Last Tuesday (Nov. 6), UN Women’s Say NO–UNiTE celebrated its third anniversary. After the recent devastation caused by Superstorm Sandy, Say NO would like everyone to take the action of checking if your neighborhood organizations that provide shelter, support and services to survivors of violence need donations or volunteers. Natural disasters are not irrelevant to, nor are they independent of the issue of gender-based violence, and being cut off from services can be dangerous. You can visit www.hotpeachpages.net to find women’s organizations worldwide.
Also, the International Day to End Violence against Women is November 25. Check out www.saynotoviolence.org for more information. You can also visit Say NO’s Facebook page or Say NO’s Twitter page for more frequent updates.
