Trans Survivors and Disability Webinar (MAY 23)

Transgender and gender non-conforming individuals experience extremely high rates of violence, as well as higher-than-average rates of physical and mental health conditions.  Join FORGE on Thursday, May 23 for a web conference titled “Disability and Transgender Survivors: Empowering providers who work with multiply-marginalized populations.”

Led by presenters michael munson and Loree Cook-Daniels, this webinar will engage participants with information about who transgender people are and the scopes of violence they encounter.  Providers will learn constructive strategies to work more effectively with the transgender community, focusing on techniques that empower both the providers and transgender survivors.  This webinar will take place on May 23 from 3-4:30 PM, and interested individuals can register at this link.

This project was supported by Grant No. 2011-TA-AX-K121 awarded by the Office on Violence Against Women, U.S. Department of Justice.
