Free screening of “Not My Life” (October 26)

Awareness Fosters Action  – – Human Trafficking “Stoppers”

Human Trafficking is Modern Day Slavery.    Did you know that human trafficking is the fastest-growing criminal activity in the world and only second to drug trafficking in size?  It exists everywhere, even in the U.S., even in NC.   Human trafficking generates over $32 billion a year in profits while victimizing countless, voiceless victims, 50 % of which are children.  “We have a huge responsibility, right now, to learn the truth and act on it”, says Robert Bilheimer, Academy Award nominee and director of “Not My Life”.  Bilheimer’s film takes viewers into a world where millions of children are exploited every day through forced labor, domestic servitude, begging, sex tourism, sexual exploitation, and child soldiering.  View a trailer for the film at http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nbforxDhrJ4.

Mr. Bilheimer will be in Raleigh at a free screening of “Not My Life” on Saturday, October 26, 2013 from 5:00 – 8:00 pm.    SAVE THE DATE.    Come learn more about what child trafficking encompasses and what we can do about it.   A discussion with the director/film maker will follow the screening.

Event sponsored by International Affairs Council of NC and co-sponsors including Partners Against Trafficking Humans in NC.
