On Friday, the Department of Homeland Security announced it has teamed up with international financial corporation Western Union to combat human trafficking.
In allying with DHS’s Blue Campaign, Western Union will provide multilingual training and awareness materials to select agent locations across the country. These materials will include PSAs, posters, and handouts to teach about potential trafficking indicators and ways to identify and help victims. Western Union hopes to educate its agents who regularly interact with the public.
Western Union is committed to its new partnership with the Blue Campaign, which collaborates with law enforcement, government, and non-government organizations to protect the basic right of freedom. Other collaborative organizations with the Blue Campaign include Amtrak, the Department of Transportation, INTERPOL, and numerous global governments, including Brazil, New Zealand, and Panama.
