The Wake County Public School System is offering Parent Academy, a series of classes, workshops, and events to help families engage with the school system and positively contribute to their child’s academic and social success. Families who attend Parent Academy events will gain invaluable knowledge to help their kids from day one of kindergarten all the way to college preparation. All events are free and open to the public.
The next event is a summit called “Secondary on the Horizon.” This is an invitation for rising middle and high school students and their parents to gain knowledge and support for the transition between middle and high school. This event will also contain valuable resources about college-related topics, such as admission, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities.
The Secondary on the Horizon summit will be on Saturday, November 15, beginning at 9 AM. The event will be on the campus of Millbrook High School (2201 Spring Forest Road, Raleigh). A free continental breakfast will be provided by New York Life, and workshops will be offered both in English and in Spanish.
