PreventConnect’s 2015 Web Conference series (beginning February 26)

PreventConnect is pleased to announce the 2015 series of web conferences!

This year’s series is titled Making Connections, Honoring Communities. Partner Prevention Institute and invited guests speakers will join PreventConnect to talk about linking sexual and domestic violence prevention efforts to related efforts and movements, as well as strategies for creating healthy, thriving communities.

The first web conference of 2015 is “Using Popular Education to Engage Communities in Sexual Violence Prevention.”  It is scheduled for Thursday, February 26, from 2 PM to 3:30 PM EST.  Topics will encompass the basic principles and practices of popular education, as well as identifying ways to engage communities in sexual violence prevention through popular education.

Guest speakers in this free web conference will be Roberto Tijerina, a trainer at the Wayside Center for Popular Education; Morgan J. Curtis, LMSW, Deputy Director at the Texas Association Against Sexual Assault (TAASA); and Tim Love, Prevention Program Director at TAASA.  All interested participants can register by clicking on this link, and for updates on the rest of this year’s web conference series, stay tuned by checking back at PreventConnect’s 2015 Web Conference Series page!
